Nota biografica

Tonino Griffero (Asti, 1958). Laureato in Filosofia-Estetica (Università di Torino, 11 novembre 1982; 110/110 e lode) con una tesi sull'ermeneutica di E.D. Hirsch (relatore Gianni Vattimo), mi sono poi dedicato allo studio di figure e problemi della storia dell'ermeneutica, specialmente in riferimento al contrasto tra istanze obiettivistiche e prospettivistiche. Sono autore di studi sull'ermeneutica di Emilio Betti (Interpretare. La teoria di Emilio Betti e il suo contesto, Torino 1988) e sulla filosofia di Eduard Spranger (Spirito e forme di vita. La filosofia della cultura di Eduard Spranger, Milano 1990). In seguito, come dottorando di Estetica (Università di Bologna 1988-92), ho dedicato un ampio lavoro al rapporto tra arte e mito nel pensiero di Schelling (Senso e immagine. Simbolo e mito nel primo Schelling, Milano 1994), un autore di cui ho ulteriormente approfondito il pensiero estetico (Cosmo Arte Natura. Itinerari schellinghiani, Milano 1995; L'estetica di Schelling, Roma-Bari 1996) e la tarda filosofia della mitologia (curatela della prima edizione italiana della Introduzione storico-critica alla Filosofia della mitologia, Milano 1998). Ricercatore di Filosofia nell'Università di Torino, sede di Vercelli (1994-99), borsista Humboldt (Heidelberg 1998-99), membro della Direzione della «Rivista di estetica» (2000-2007), dal 1999 professore associato di Estetica (Poetica e Retorica) nell'Università degli Studi di Roma Tor Vergata e dal 2002 professore ordinario di Estetica nella medesima università, le mie ricerche si sono orientate negli ultimi anni tanto alla storia dell'estetica e al problema del "potere" dell'immaginazione (Immagini attive. Breve storia dell'immaginazione transitiva, Firenze 2003), quanto e soprattutto al tema estetico-teosofico della «corporeità spirituale» (Oetinger e Schelling. Teosofia e realismo biblico alle origini dell'idealismo tedesco, Segrate-Milano 2000; Il corpo spirituale. Ontologie “sottili” da Paolo di Tarso a Friedrich Christoph Oetinger, Milano 2006), indagato sia come problema ricorrente nella storia della filosofia e della scienza, sia come fondamento implicito della filosofia della natura dell'età romantica. Direttore (dal 2005) del Master in "Comunicazione estetica e museale" (Scuola IAD-Università di Tor Vergata-Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna di Roma), dal 2007 della Collana Editoriale "Oltre lo sguardo. Itinerari di filosofia" (Armando, Roma), dal 2010 della collana "Percezioni. Estetica & fenomenologia" (Marinotti, Milano),e dal 2007 del Colloquium "Sensibilia. Colloquium on Perception and Experience" (http://www.sensibilia.it), i cui atti sono pubblicati da Mimesis (Milano), dal 2011 della rivista "Lebenswelt. Aesthetics and philosophy of experience" (http://riviste.unimi.it/index.php/Lebenswelt), sono attualmente impegnato nell'elaborazione di una estetica che ponga al centro la dimensione spaziale ed emozionale delle "atmosfere".
